I have recently relocated to Portland OR from the East Coast and find myself in need of a new set of runes. I’m wondering if anyone familiar with this area and it’s flora can give me some suggestions on what kind of tree to use for the wood. My previous set was made from a bough of black birch that I harvested in the adirondacks. I’d also love to hear other folks experiences with cutting their own staves - what kind of wood they used, when they cut it down, how long they cured it for, etc….

This is the best rune community I’ve seen on the web - it pulls together the divinatory/psychic meanings along with the psychological, historical and even alchemical meanings, interpretations and usages. I would like to see a little more on bindrunes and how they can be applied in magickal practice…
